Historyka. Studia Metodologiczne
Historyka. Studia Metodologiczne is an annual scholarly journal publishing articles on the theory and philosophy of history, the history of historiography, methods of historical research, and the history of ideas and intellectual history. An important role is also played by articles on the research practice of historians, written by scholars for whom methodology and historical theory are not their primary field of study. The journal has been published since 1967 and has been included in the ERIH PLUS list since 2014.
The journal’s reach continues to expand through an increasing number of articles published in foreign languages. Historyka is indexed in databases such as Scopus, BazHum, CEJSH, Index Copernicus, PBN, and POL–Index.
Since 2023, the journal has co-organized the Marceli Handelsman Award for outstanding master’s and doctoral theses in the fields of historical theory, the history of historiography, and historical methodology.
The editorial board is currently working toward inclusion in the Web of Science and DOAJ databases, as well as implementing the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform and an anti-plagiarism system. The journal is also expanding its international collaborations, aiming to strengthen its position as a leading journal in the field of historical theory in Central and Eastern Europe.
