Małopolska Award of the Polish Academy of Sciences
The Małopolska Award of the Polish Academy of Sciences is a prestigious distinction granted annually to young researchers working in the Małopolska region for outstanding scientific achievements.
The award is granted in six disciplines, awarded alternately: in even-numbered years (e.g. 2026, 2028) in the fields of natural sciences, exact sciences, and technical sciences; and in odd-numbered years (e.g. 2027, 2029) in the fields of medical sciences, humanities and social sciences, and arts.
The award is given for scientific achievements from the past five years, evaluated in terms of scientific value and contribution to the development of the discipline, originality of the research, as well as the significance of publications and their reception within the academic community.
Who can nominate candidates?
Candidates may be nominated by, among others:
- Members of the Polish Academy of Sciences (at least two),
- Deans of university faculties,
- Directors of institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences,
- Members of the Rectors’ College,
- The Voivode of Małopolska.
How to submit a nomination?
The application should be submitted by 31 December via email to: krakow@pan.pl.
Required documents:
- Academic CV including a list of publications,
- Description of the scientific achievement (1–2 pages),
- Up to three publications confirming the research output,
- Indication of two potential reviewers.
