Rocznik Historii Prasy Polskiej

Rocznik Historii Prasy Polskiej publishes original and high-quality scholarly articles, reviews, surveys, source materials, reports, and communications by authors from both national and international research institutions. RHPP is the only journal in Poland—and the third worldwide—dedicated to the broadly defined history of media, with particular emphasis on the history of the press.

Most contributions focus on the history of the press in the 19th and 20th centuries; however, the journal also publishes studies on Old Polish and 18th-century periodicals, as well as articles addressing contemporary issues in media studies.

The number of publications concerning press law, media economics, media ethics, and the functioning of the press within media and political systems is steadily increasing, including comparative and international perspectives. The editorial board assumes that the press cannot be separated from its broader cultural and historical context. Contemporary developments and technology further reinforce the global and universal dimension of nearly every aspect of the press—both historically and in the present—which is reflected in the journal’s publications.

RHPP is indexed in: ERIH PLUS, Google Scholar, CrossRef, ICI Journals Master List / ICI World of Journals, BazHum, PBN (Polish Scholarly Bibliography), CEON, the Central European Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities (CEJSH #1 and #2), and WorldCat.
