Teka Komisji Urbanistyki i Architektury Oddziału PAN w Krakowie
The annual scholarly journal Teka Komisji Urbanistyki i Architektury of the Kraków Branch of the Polish Academy of Sciences has a long-standing tradition of over half a century. It serves as the official publication of the Commission on Urban Planning and Architecture of the Kraków Branch of the Polish Academy of Sciences. It brings together a community of researchers, designers, and academic teachers working in the fields of architecture, urban planning, spatial planning, landscape architecture, heritage conservation, art history, and other related disciplines.
Since volume XLV/2017, Teka KUiA has been indexed in the following databases: Web of Science (WoS) Core Collection’s Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI), ARIANTA, BazTech, ERIH Plus CEON, ICI Journals Master List, and the Polish Scientific Bibliography (PBN).
The journal is addressed not only to specialists, but also to all readers interested in space—both natural and cultural—especially those with an appreciation for landscape and conservation values, environmental order, the identity of place (the “spirit of place,” Latin: genius loci), and the artistic creation of space as a work of art. It also focuses on the theory, history, and sustainable development of architecture and urban structures, as well as contemporary and innovative phenomena in spatial planning and research at both local and global scales.
Teka is one of the few journals on the Polish market representing the discipline of architecture and urban planning. It is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal publishing original research articles in both English and Polish (with English translations).
