Scientific Committees

The Scientific Committees operating within the Kraków Branch of the Polish Academy of Sciences bring together the academic and scientific community, engaging specialists from a wide range of disciplines. They are composed primarily of representatives of universities and research institutions from the region. It is worth noting, however, that some Committees have a broader, supra-regional composition.

The Committees are appointed by the Presidium of the Kraków Branch for a four-year term. During the current term, 27 Committees operate within the Branch, bringing together approximately 1,000 scientists.

The main forms of their activity include the organization of regional and national conferences and scientific sessions, often featuring international guest speakers, as well as publishing and expert activities.
